The Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival is a yearly appointment which brings together active writers and translators from Malta, the Mediterranean and beyond, showcasing contemporary thinking and writing, and promoting interaction across languages, genres, geographies, whilst discussing some of the major issues of our time.

The Festival comprises of readings, music, poetry films and more. A collaborative project with Valletta 2018 titled Poetry on Film, will showcase an audio-visual interpretation of Maltese poetry into short films.

By fostering collaboration within specific programmes and across artistic genres through an annual literary festival, a literary translation workshop and other pre-festival events, the MMLF aims to consolidate the place of Maltese literature in its simultaneously global and Mediterranean context.

The 2018 edition of the Festival will be held between the 23rd to the 25th August 2018 at Fort Manoel, Manoel Island, Gżira. For more information visit our event page or inizjamedmalta.wordpress.com.
