The Valletta 2018 Foundation is looking for experienced, versatile and trained actors/dancers/actor-musicians to be in the chance to be part of its artistic team for a devised project that will take place in May 2018 and will be led by Greek artist and theatre director Elli Papakonstantinou.

The final creative product will explore immersive theatre and will take the format of an interactive walkthrough for audiences. The process will be open and collaborative in terms of involving international artists, therefore the working language will be English.

It will rely heavily on input from the creative players and will focus on exploring the following questions through artistic development with this professional team:

Is identity a gambling game? Are we all gamblers in our lives?  What are the many aspects of the Maltese identity?

Interested parties should be available on February 1st/2nd 2017 to attend an audition workshop with Elli at Teatru Manoel, Valletta. During this workshop you will be introduced to Elli’s work of developing performances through improvisation and use of found text.

You would be required to bring the following to the workshop to use as departure points for inspiration:

  • A text that you like. This could be a piece of literature, theatrical script, a newspaper clip or a personal text of your own.
  • A song
  • A musical instrument – where possible, if you play.

Successful applicants will be expected to have full-time availability from mid-March 2018 for rehearsals. Remuneration offered accordingly.

If you are keen to participate or require further information please send your CV to [email protected]

Deadline: January 20th 2017, 12.00 noon.
