The Manoel Theatre in collaboration with the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra shall be hosting the event Dvorak & Elgar – an evening of timeless music.

Described by The Washington Post as “a seasoned phenomenon,” Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan shall visit Malta this month to perform Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B Minor under the direction of acclaimed Greek conductor Michalis Economou.

The programme shall also include the conductor’s own composition Di-ichon which was re-arranged especially for this concert. Economou’s compoistion was inspired by William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

The evening will finish with Elgar’s Enigma Variations, a set of musical sketches inspired by the personalities of some of the composer’s closest friends, including his wife and even himself.

Ticket are available from the Manoel Theatre’s official website.

Dvorak & Elgar is supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation.
