Polly March and Larissa Bonaci star with Geoff Thomas in a new musical play, ‘Star Of Strait Street’, which retells a true-life love story from World War 2.

Christina Ratcliffe is the singer who came to Malta to entertain the troops and met Adrian Warburton, daredevil air ace. Christina stayed on in Malta all through War World 2 and became an aircraft plotter in the underground Lascaris War Rooms.  She was awarded the British Empire Medal for her services to the Royal Air Force. She would become known as ‘Christina of George Cross Island’.

The play is based on extracts from Christina Ratcliffe’s own writings, and the new book Malta’s Greater Siege and Adrian Warburton DSO* DFC** DFC (USA) by Paul McDonald OBE.  The play is written and directed by Philip Glassborow.

This event is being presented by Strada Stretta Concept under the auspices of The Valletta 2018 Foundation in collaboration with the 2017 Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
