The 14th edition of the Malta International Fireworks will be organized by the Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority. The festival celebrates Malta’s anniversary on joining the European Union and its colourful fireworks attract both locals and foreigners alike.
The festival opens in Marsaxlokk on Saturday 28th April and will continue on the 30th April in Valletta, where the colourful pyrotechnics will bathe the iconic Grand Harbour in light. Finally, the festival will come to a close on 2nd May with a pyromusical show in Bugibba.
This festival attracts a variety of pyrotechnic companies from countries from all over the world like Australia, Canada, Venezuela, Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom. Both local and foreign firework factories will participate in the upcoming edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival to bring visitors spectacular pyrotechnic performances accompanied by music. Foreign participants will also be taking part in the International Pyromusical Competition and will include Thailand Firewords from Thailand, A.P.E. di Parente Romualdo form Italy while local participants include St. Mary Fireworks Factory from Ghaxaq, Lourdres Fireworks Factory from Qrendi and St. Andrew’s Band Fireworks Factory from Luqa. There is also a National Fireworks Competition in the festival programme and participants include Lourdes Fireworks Factory from Qrendi, St. Mary Fireworks Complex from Mgarr and also Soċjetà Piroteknika 15 ta’ Awissu from Mosta. Winners will receive a special trophy depending on their ranking while other participants shall receive commemorative trophies.
