The Curatorial School, now in its fourth edition, is intended for practitioners and students in a variety of related areas like the fine arts, art education, arts administration, curation and history of art. Participants are offered a programme of lectures and workshops and will also be able to present their curatorial ideas or their own artwork and receive feedback from invited speakers. This intensive one-week curatorial programme features international guest speakers from various institutions.

This year’s edition is Researching Curatorial Practices, which asks: What kind of research do curators of contemporary art engage in?

The third edition was hosted at the University of Malta Valletta Campus from the 29th August till the 2nd September, 2016.

The theme for the third edition of the Curatorial School was Curating the New, and focused on the meaning of the ‘new’ in contemporary art and curatorial practices.
