The 25th of April is ANZAC Day, a day which salutes Australians and New Zealanders who fought and gave their lives during wars throughout history. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of ANZAC day, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra is organising a concert which celebrates Australian musical artists. The concert’s programme includes works by Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe which pays respect to the communities that suffered the effects of war and will be conducted by Brian Schembri. Australian pianist Stefan Cassomenos also joins the MPO to perform Rachmaninov’ 2nd Piano Concerto. Dvorak’s Symbphony no 9 From the New World also features in the commemorative programme.
The From the World concert will be held on the 25th April at the Mediterranean Conference Centre at 7.30pm. For more information, please visit the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra official website.
