Wroclaw, which will hold the European Capital of Culture 2016 alongside Basque’s Donostia – San Sebastián, is getting ready to hold the official opening of its yearlong festivities from 15th to 17th January.
Up to one hundred cultural events are lined up for the three-day inauguration ceremony. The key event is a performance titled “Awakening”, staged throughout the city, portraying Wrocław’s history. The undertaking will involve 1,300 artists, 200 choir singers, 50 soldiers, 300 cyclists and 5 trams. This main event will feature all kinds of surprises, in order to stimulate the emotions and the artistic experiences of all the people attending.
