The Valletta 2018 Foundation app Privacy Policy

The Valletta 2018 Foundation app has been built as a free app and is intended to promote events happening throughout 2018. Information such as maps to locations and links to ticketing services are available to you at the touch of a finger via your email or Facebook accounts.

The Valletta 2018 Foundation recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all users and ensures adherence to all requirements set forth in the Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 and the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as well as the Data Protection Act, Chapter 440 of the Laws of Malta. The following explains how the Valletta 2018 Foundation handles collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information belonging to you, the user, whilst aiming to be as transparent as possible.

Information Collection and use

For the best experience possible, the app may require you to provide personal information which includes but is not limited to your name, address and email address.

In addition, the app uses third party services such as Facebook and your email service provider that may collect information which personally identifies individual users.

By making use of our ‘favourites tab’ you will be signifying acceptance for individual user data regarding your personal preferences to be collected. We may directly collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools and services, to help us measure usage trends for the Service. This may include collection of information sent by your browser or mobile device, which assists us in improving the Service. We collect and use this analytics information in aggregate form such that it cannot reasonably be manipulated to identify any particular individual user.

Personal information may also be collected when the app fails. Log data such as your device’s IP address, device name, operating system version as well as time and date of attempted and successful log in’s to our app may be collected through third party products and services.

When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor and/or remotely store “location data,” which may include GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude and/or longitude) or similar information regarding the location of your mobile device. Location data may convey to us information about how you browse and use the Service.

Communications

The Valletta 2018 Foundation may use your personal information for marketing and research purposes. You may however withdraw and opt out of such use by emailing [email protected].

 Minors

This app does not intend or knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from minor children. Any such information shall be deleted in all cases wherein it is discovered that information belongs to a minor. Parents/legal guardians who discover that minors have provided us with personally identifiable information should contact the Valletta 2018 Foundation immediately via email on [email protected] in order for our team to take the necessary actions and delete the information.

Security

While the security of all of our users’ information remains a top priority for us, absolute security cannot be guaranteed in any kind of electronic storage systems. It is possible that third parties not under the control of the Valletta 2018 Foundation may be able to access or intercept transmissions or private communications without the Valletta 2018 Foundation’s permission or knowledge. The Valletta 2018 Foundation shall take all technical and administrative security measures possible in order to minimize risks of loss of data or misuse of the same.

In the event that any information under our control is extrapolated or taken by a third party as a result of a breach of security, The Valletta 2018 Foundation will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and take all the necessary steps, in accordance with the applicable laws mentioned above.

The Valletta 2018 Foundation shall not, under any circumstances, including but not limited to negligence, be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages that result from the disclosure or use of the information or materials in this app.

The Valletta 2018 Foundation reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. You shall be informed of any such changes through an update on the Privacy Policy section in the Valletta 2018 app and an option to Agree or Disagree to such changes.

Should you decide after installing the Valletta 2018 to uninstall it, we will have no legal ground to continue processing any of your personal data, and therefore we promise to delete and destroy all data.

All data collected will be processed in accordance with GDPR.

 

BY DOWNLOADING AND USING THIS APP, YOU SIGNIFY YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND AGREEMENT TO COMPLY WITH THE ENTIRE PRIVACY POLICY. HOWEVER, THE VALLETTA 2018 FOUNDATION REMAINS COMMITTED TO YOUR RIGHTS AND FOR THIS REASON YOU MAY WITHDRAW YOUR CONSENT TO THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY AND THEREBY INSTRUCTING US TO DELETE AND DESTROY YOUR PERSONAL DATA BY UNINSTALLING THE APP FROM YOUR PERSONAL DEVICE.
