The project is part of a multi-layered collaboration between ARC and the EuroMed network Medinea Project (Mediterranean Incubator of Emerging Artists). Created in 2011 and coordinated by the Festival d’Aix en Provence (France), the Medinea Project consists of more than twenty cultural organisations operating in the music and performing arts sectors engaged in dynamics of exchange and collaboration at an international level.

The Medinea network aims at the recruitment of talents, exchange of ideas, and production of innovative projects. ARC represents Malta in the Medinea Project and has been part of the network since 2014. The Festival d’Aix-en-Provence – known for its focus on opera and its commitment to commission new works – is one of the most prestigious European festivals.

The Mediterranean Dimension Project consists of different events that will be held between 2017 and 2019 in Malta. These include intercultural residencies and workshops, performances, auditions for various activities in the Festival d’Aix en Provence, and research encounters related to the events.
