AMALGAMA is an innovative piano and audio-reactive visual performance – a collaboration between pianist Gabi Sultana and visual artist Mark Dingli. They explore minimalistic works by international contemporary composers, such as John Cage, Philip Glass and Benjamin Van Esser, amongst others.

During the performance, Sultana’s piano sound is fed through Dingli’s visuals, which are specifically made for this program, thus creating a homogeneous experience that brings a visual aspect into what is usually a purely listening environment. The result is an immersive experience for music, art and experimental-sound enthusiasts. This project will also include Sultana’s piano transcription of a piece by NSI. Non Standard Institute (a partnership between Tobias Freund and Max Loderbauer) and a piano and modular improvisation with electronic musician TR-S1.

The event is being held at 43, Lascaris Wharf, Valletta and will be starting at 8.30pm. Tickets cost €10.50 (including booking fee) and can be bought from the link below.
