Under the baton of Brian Schembri, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing a concert to commemorate Din l-Art Ħelwa’s 50th anniversary. The concert features Carmine Lauri, an internationally celebrated Maltese violinist who will be performing three romantic violin pieces which showcase technical bravado.

The programme includes Maltese composer Carmelo Pace’s Sinfonietta, Henryk Wieniawski’s Polonaise in D op.4, Pablo de Sarasate’s Romanza Andaluza op.22/1, Tchaikovsky’s  Waltz Scherzo op.34, Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No.1 in F# minor: 3rd mvt: (Finale), Maurice Ravel’s Pavane pour un enfant défunte, Shostakovich’s Symphony No 9 in E flat major Op 70.
