The 20th of January 2016 will be a very special day for Donostia – San Sebastián. The most iconic celebration in the city, known as “Tamborrada”, will be part of the opening festivities for the year of the European Capital of Culture Donostia – San Sebastián 2016.

Different opening events will take place from January 20th till January 24th throughout the city, where cultural centers, concert venues, theaters, museums, art galleries and libraries will open their doors at the same time.

The flagship event, an opening ceremony designed by Hansel Cereza, will be held on the 23^rd and it will contain the main values that shape the project of Donostia – San Sebastián 2016.
