Explore the relationship between music and architecture in this exciting ongoing educational project. In this particular strand, children explored the concept of doors: doors that block, doors into other countries, and doors as symbols of domestic space. This art installation was created by children with the help of top sound and visual artists, and it offers a fresh perspective on something we often take for granted.
This installation forms part of KantaKantun, an innovative project which encouraged middle school students to explore the relationship between music and architecture in fun and accessible ways. The programme introduced classes to key concepts in both disciplines through a tour of the school’s locality, followed by a hands-on approach that explored space and sound during the workshops. Participants were then encouraged to compose unique soundscapes based on the urban landscapes explored.
The exhibition is open from the 9th November to the 9th December 2018 at Space A, Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta.
This exhibition forms part of ŻiguŻajg International Arts Festival for Children and Young People and is part of the Valletta 2018 Cultural Programme.
