The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra is back to bring you one of the best musical experiences to be had on the island.
The fourth concert in the MPO Concert Series features MPO resident conductor Michael Laus who will be directing works from three mainstays of the Romantic Era. The programme includes Wagner’s Rienzi Overture, Bruch’s Double Concerto in E minor Op 88 with soloists Marcelline Agius (violin) and Nadia Debono (viola), and finally, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 4 in F minor,Op 36.
This fourth concert is dedicated to the memory of the late Stephen Galea, former MPO viola Principal and will be held at the Teatru Manoel on the 26th March at 8pm. There will be a pre-concert talk at 7.15pm.
The MPO Concert Series features five concerts between October and the end of May bringing the best of local and international talent. The first concert was held on the 21st October 2014 while the second and third concerts in the series were held on the 28th November 2014 and the 20th February 2015.
