Orfeo & Majnun: A Tale of Love, Loss & Longing consists of a theatre of emotions, where ancient myths from different cultures meet, Orfeo & Majnun brings two love stories together – that of Orpheus and Eurydice, the ultimate Greek tragic love story, and Layla and Majnun, the classic Persian tale that has come to be known as the Romeo and Juliet of the East.
Be a part of this unique project by participating in one of the Orfeo & Majnun open animal building workshops. During animal building workshops, participants from all walks of life are bringing mythical animals synonymous with Orfeo & Majnun to life. With the help of the participants, the animals will be set free in a wondrous parade that will make its way through the streets and squares of Valletta during Sfilata fil-Kapitali (Parade in the Capital) on the 27th October, 2018. Workshops with various communities are currently underway, where participants have built their own beautiful animals for the parade, and will be animating them and bringing them to life in Valletta.
You can still participate in this magical activity! Head to St Anne’s Square in Sliema on the 15th September between 10am and 1pm, and try your hand at building these extraordinary animals.
Orfeo & Majnun is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
