The Department of Maltese at the University of Malta and the Kunsill Nazzjonali tal-Ilsien Malti have joined forces to bring Prof. John Simpson to our shores. Simpson, who was the Chief Editor of the Oxford English Dictionary for 20 years (1993-2003), will be participating in a series of debates open to the public. The dates and topics of the debates are as follows:

Monday 16 March 6.30-8pm: The OED: a short history of an institution

Wednesday 18 March 6.30-8pm: From paper to electronic dictionaries

Friday 20 March 6.30-8pm: A new dictionary of Maltese: what are the issues?

All debates will take place at Dar l-Ewropa, 245 St Paul Street, Valletta.
