The Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes in collaboration with Valletta 2018 Foundation and the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) is organising a seminar entitled Playful Learning in STEM – Promoting Game-based Learning in STEM Education. The aim of the seminar is to provide STEM educators with a theoretical and practical underpinning for the use of games in STEM Education.

Dr Lauri Järvilehto is the keynote speaker for the seminar. Dr Järvilehto is a former educational consultant at Rovio Entertainment (the company related to the highly acclaimed game Angry Birds) and co-founder/chairman of Lightneer, a mobile-gaming startup focusing on games for learning.

The seminar will be held on Wednesday 27th June 2018 between 8.30am and 12.15pm at MITA Data Centre (Triq il-Ferrovija, Santa Venera), as per programme below. Interested educators and SMT members are kindly requested to register for the event by accessing the link by not later than Wednesday 20th June 2018. All participants are kindly requested to get their laptop on the day.
