The Valletta 2018 Foundation is supporting the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2018, in its 50th anniversary, with this year’s Race Start taking place on the 20th October 2018. The Race Start can be enjoyed from various vantage points around Valletta

To celebrate the occasion from when the first edition of this epic offshore race took place in 1968, the Royal Malta Yacht Club is gearing up for what promises to be a very special edition of this highly rated offshore race.

The Club is looking forward to welcoming a mix of professional and corinthian crews, crew making a welcome return as well as those making their first appearance on the start line in the historical Grand Harbour in Valletta.

From South Africa to the United States, from Chile to New Zealand, the appeal of the Rolex Middle Sea Race is unquestionably broad, with over 30 countries represented in 2017.

The Rolex Middle Sea Race course record has only been broken on five occasions since the inaugural edition in 1968. The current record was established in 2007 and stands at 47 hours 55 minutes.
