The Strada Stretta Concept, under the auspices of the Valletta 2018 Foundation presents ‘The Stein Songs’, a concert with Tom Armitage and Stephanie Pan, under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci.

Stein was the literary counterpart of Picasso, Matisse, Gauguin, who greatly contributed as both artist and patron to the Paris art scene before the Second World War. She was one of the central figures, organizing soirées at her house, and through her friendships with people like Picasso, Matisse, Stravinsky, Satie, Hemingway and many others.

Luc Houtkamp is a composer from the Netherlands whose work bridges the gap between different worlds of music. Having a background in jazz and improvised music as a saxophone player, his musical goal is to establish a continuum between improvisation and composition in which the difference between the two dissolves.

The event is taking place on the 26th September at the Splendid in Strait Street, starting from 8.30pm. FREE ENTRANCE

Special thanks to Jason Masini for Splendid.
