Teatru Manoel and the Austrian Embassy are producing a spectacular concert on Wednesday 4 February 2015 at 8pm, in which members from the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic will collaborate with members from the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra to bring you a night of musical excellence, featuring music from the Austrian greats: Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.

Musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic include: Wener Hink, concertmaster with the VPO for almost 40 years, Edward Kudlak, violinist with the VPO since 1972, and Fritz Dolezal, former solo cellist of the VPO. These will lead the ensembles in Haydn’s Emperor string quartet op 76no.3,  the exuberant Quartet for flute and strings K 285 by Mozart, and also Beethoven’s Septet in E flat major for winds and strings, op 20.

From the local scene, there will be Jose García Gutiérrez on French horn, Godfrey Mifsud on clarinet, Ulrike Buhlmann on bassoon, flutist Rebecca Hall, violinist Maria Conrad and double bassist Michelle Scicluna.
