Qaħba Jien? is a theatrical production supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation. This production, happening at the Spazju Kreattiv Theatre between the 3rd and the 5th of November, features a woman, gifted by nature, known by everyone as the “whore”. The men put on a macho act, boasting about what they did and didn’t do with her, even if she doesn’t even know them. On the other hand, ladies are jealous of her; they see her garnering more attention than them.
Have you ever met someone known as a whore? Have you ever been called so? Or have you ever called someone a “whore”? Before uttering the word, have you ever tried to walk in her shoes? Have you ever tried walking in a street where everyone looks your way and whispers negative comments about you? Have you ever listened to a whore’s story?
The story kicks off in the eighties… a story of an unfortunate family with all its ups and downs… Everything appears to start getting better, until…
