Ħolqa is a project of dramatic performances hosted by the University of Malta Junior College, involving the participation of different European schools. The festival, to be held between the 12th and 16th March, aims at bringing together young people from different countries with theatre as a unifying gel.
The project creates a cultural space for 16 – 19-year-old students from different socio-economic backgrounds and countries, including those who are in some way disadvantaged, to come together to share ideas, views and culture through their artistic expression. The week’s activities involve performances, dramatic workshops, cultural outings, social events, team building exercises, rehearsals.
Activities during the festival include:
• Performances at Junior College and other outdoor venues by the participant groups
• Theatre workshops in the spheres of acting, voice, dance/movement
The festival is also supported by the Premju tal-President għall-Kreattività.
