Sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Artist Protection Fund (APF) is a new program at the Institute of International Education, which provides life-saving fellowship grants to threatened artists from any field of artistic endeavour and places them at host universities and arts centres in safe countries.

Malta will be hosting one APF Fellow for twelve months—providing the artist with a safe environment in which to live and work—including: accommodation, studio space, local support and networking opportunities with fellow artists and members of Maltese civil society.
