The Strada Stretta Concept, under the auspices of the Valletta 2018 Foundation, is proposing a radical event which reflects its ‘out-of-the-box’ approach. Again Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci provoked a challenge between Opera and Jazz, this time inviting Sandro Zerafa ‘confronting’ the Ukranian Soprano Marjana Bodnar. To add spice to more spice Sandro calls in Stjepko Gut and Oliver Degabriele.

Jazz Operat jew Opera Injazzata

An unlikely encounter between these two highly contrasting styles. Arias from Saint-Saens, Rossini, Gimenez will be revisited in a jazz key.

2nd part:

Stejpko Gut meets Sandro Zerafa

The renowned Serbian trumpet player meets Maltese jazz expatriates Sandro Zerafa and Oliver Degabriele paying homage to jazz legends Tadd Dameron and Thelonious Monk on the occasion of their 100th anniversary.

The event will be held at Splendid, Strada Stretta, Valletta on Friday 19th May, 8.00PM.
