The Rwandan circus and acrobatic group “Future Vision Acrobat” are coming to Malta and Gozo captivating audiences with their high energy, emotive and entertaining performances.

During their 10-day stay on the Maltese Islands, FVA will run a 5-day “Circus4Life” workshop in the mornings from 9.30 to 12.30 for youths aged 12 to 15 and from 17.00 to 20.00 for 16+ year olds.

The workshop will be a mixture of acrobatic & circus skills as well as expressing one’s feelings through movement and acrobatics, choreographing a piece to perform at the show. Participants will also be encouraged to share their life stories in order to nurture understanding and respect for one another’s diverse backgrounds and nationalities.

The performance by the FVA acrobats will show how far people come from and how much they can achieve if they keep persevering for a better future, where people are able to have a good life and a chance to change the world for the better. The show will be interspersed with acts that the participants have prepared during the 5-day workshop.

The FVA acrobats are survivors of the genocide and have founded FVA, using the power of acrobatics to get youth living on the streets in Gisenyi in Rwanda, back into school and into safe housing by re-instating their belief in others and in themselves. FVA raises funds from performances and organising circus schools to help fund their programmes.

Future Vision Acrobat is endorsed by The Rwanda Performing Arts Federation and has travelled extensively worldwide on various tours, festivals and other sponsored trips.

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and rise, both entities working with young people using different means have joined forces to bring ‘Circus4Life’ into action. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ welcome young Eyca card holders and youth attending its youth cafes in various localities to participate in this ultimate project. A project that grants Space, enabling the young people attending to explore the art of acrobatics whilst coming face to face with the reality of young people in Rwanda. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and rise aim to widen the young people’s knowledge of self belief and give room to identify the differences and common matters both parties encounter.

This event is endorsed by the Valletta 2018 Foundation.
