Wirt iż-Żejtun has been organising biennial symposia since 2012. The theme of this year’s symposium is “The Maltese Village”. The main aim behind this theme is to understand better the formation and characteristics of our towns and villages and raise awareness about the importance of protecting the cultural values enshrined in these living spaces.

A number of researchers, historians and academics have been invited to contribute in this symposium by preparing papers on this subject. The symposium’s guest speaker will be the most renowned Professor Dr Brian W. Blouet.

The Symposium will be held at the Grand Salon, National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta on the 20th October 2018 between 8.30am and 2.30pm. This event is supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation.
