On the 10th and 11th November, the streets of Mellieħa will see live performances of Bodies in Urban Spaces, starting at 10.30am and 3pm on both days at Fort Mellieħa (Mellieħa Scout Group).

Bodies in Urban Spaces is a moving trail in the form of a chain of physical interventions, choreographed by a group of dancers. It invites residents to walk their own city, thus establishing a stronger relationship with their neighbourhood, district and town and allowing them to perceive the same space or place in a new and different way.

During this event, performers place their bodies in selected spots around a town or city — urban spaces — to point out the urban functional structure and to uncover the restricted movement possibilities, rules and limitations. The audience and passers by are motivated and prompted to reflect on their urban surrounding and their own behaviour and habits in relation to the sense of movement.

Each performance sees the participation of 20 local performers, and lasts approximately one hour.

Performances of Bodies in Urban Spaces have been taking place since 2007, in various countries and cities across the world.
