The Valletta 2018 Foundation is issuing a call for participants related to ‘Darba Waħda…’ – a multi-disciplinary project taking place in different locations across the island, involving elderly people and children.
Prospective participants from Naxxar, Mosta, Għargħur, Rabat, Dingli, Mdina, Paola, Fgura and Santa Luċija are invited to join this creative adventure startin in April 2015. Parents, grandparents and their children can all join in the fun.
The Foundation is also recruiting artists/creatives who would like to deliver arts and crafts workshops to these participants.
Volunteers interested to be part of the project should also get involved.
Elderly people have a wealth of information and experience that makes them valuable members of our communities. Children, on the other hand, in their simplicity and youthfulness, are inspirational.
Darba Waħda… is an intergenerational project giving the two generations the opportunity to meet over a creative platform. Through various creative methods including drama, games and exercises, arts and crafts, storytelling and improvisations, the two generations will have the opportunity to relate, to share, to exchange, to learn and to create… and most of all have fun together. This project will explore this relationship and create a bridge between the two generations.
Coordinated by applied drama practitioner Anna Formosa, the project is being produced by the Valletta 2018 Foundation with the support of a number of participating local councils.
