Italian performance company Il Posto will be giving breathtaking shows at St George’s Square on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd December, transforming the iconic Grandmaster’s Palace facade in St George’s Square with a spectacular vertical choreography, electronic music and colourful video projections.

There will be three shows per day, starting at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. The shows are also part of the Valletta 2018 Cultural Programme.

Full Wall: The Best of Vertical Dance is a selection of Il Posto’s most successful choreographies. The choreography is an energetic and dynamic site specific performance inspired by the architecture.

Vertical dance is understood as a body that moves perpendicularly to the wall by establishing a relationship with the space according to a new perspective. The architecture and landscape play a central role, marking and distinguishing each show. The music is created specifically for each show and customized accordingly for each location, performed live with the combination of saxophone and live electronics.

The company Il Posto has taken part in important festivals and events on both the national and international scene such as the Singapore Arts Festival, Uniteatro Festival in Paranà-Brazil, International Dance Festival in Bangkok, Kuopio Dance festival in Finland, Dimitria Festival in Salonicco, Lugar a Dança in Lisbon, Silkeborg Performer House- Denmark, Doha In Qatar, Gaborone in Botswana, FoolsFestival in Belfast, Defense Paris, Festival Des Arts Vivant 2009 in Rabat, Mittelfest, Roma in Scena, Carnival of Venice and many others festivals in Italy as Milano, Genova, Napoli.
