Valletta 2018 Chairman Jason Micallef last week visited Vienna, Austria, as part of a cross-cultural exchange between Valletta 2018 and the Embassy of Malta and the Permanent Representation of Malta to the OSCE and the UN Agencies in Vienna. During the exchange, Mr Micallef spoke extensively about Valletta 2018’s Cultural Programme and legacy and met with a number of key members in Vienna’s cultural industry, including Director General at the Directorate of Arts and Culture within the Federal Chancellery of Austria, Jurgen Meindl, and member of the Provinicial Parliament and of the Vienna City Council Sybille Straubinger.

A reception was also held as part of the cultural exchange in which music was performed under the baton of Dominic Galea. The visit further strengthened Valletta 2018’s relations with other European cities. The Valletta 2018 Foundation would like to express its gratitude to HE Keith Azzopardi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Austria for making this exchange possible.
