Join the Royal Shakespeare Company on the 4th March 2015 at 8pm for a live screening of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Won, or Much Ado About Nothing at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity. Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the play tells the story of a group of soldiers who return to the trenches in the autumn of 1918. Benedick and his friend Claudio reacquaint themselves with Beatrice and Hero, and memories of conflict lead to extravagant parties and masked balls. Claudio and Hero fall in love while Benedick and Beatrice resume their courtship.
Shakespeare’s play weaves together the joy of post-war house parties, youthful passions, deceived lovers and threatened happiness, all which lead to peace eventually winning out.
Live screning on the 4th March at 8pm with an encore on the 15th March at 6.30pm. For more information, please visit the St James Cavalier official website.
