The Malta International Choir Festival brings together some of the best choirs from the local choral scene while also providing these same choirs the opportunity to collaborate with other foreign choirs. Organised by the Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority, the Malta International Choir Festival will run from the 29th October to the 1st November and will be held at different venues around Malta including Valletta, Floriana and the University of Malta.
Apart from choral performances, MICF also includes an International Composition Competition for young composers; workshops for composers, conductors and choirs; and educational collaborations with established organisations.
Part of the festival also includes the development of a virtual community choir named Vrbe Nova which ties the Choir Festival to Valletta 2018 and our capital city. Vrbe Nova, which literally means New City, is a project which features in Valletta 2018’s Cultural Programme.
