Japan Image Council (JAPIC) has opened a call for applications for foreign animation artists to submit for the Animation Artist in Residence in Tokyo 2016. Organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan, this artist in residence programme offers three talented young animation artists from around the world the opportunity to stay and work in Tokyo while interacting directly with Japanese animation culture. Through this arrangement, the project promotes the creation of stellar animation work as well as providing insight into Japanese culture.
Prospective applicants must submit their applications by September 10th 2015. The artist in residence programme lasts from 70 days between 7th January and 17th March 2016 and covers a number of expenses such as travel and living.
