Around 83 inhabitants of Stod, a town located near Pilsen, decided to leave their homeland and travel to New Zealand in 1863. An exhibition titled Mud, Misery and Bohemians organised by Pilsen 2015 and the University of West Bohemia, focuses on this difficult move from the Czech Republic to settling and erecting a village in the middle of the New Zealand wilderness. The exhibition contains a lot of interesting things such as: film projections, historical objects, records, diaries and a distinctive artistic concept, which all add to conjure the memory of this historic event.
